Belgium Beer Week returning this month

Belgium Beer Week, the international week-long celebration of Belgian beer culture, is retuning later this month.

Taking place from 26 August – 1 September 2024, different pubs and bars around the world are invited to join in and immerse themselves in the wonderful world of Belgian beer.

This year, a very special event with complimentary food and beer will be created for the public at The Dove Freehouse and Kitchen at Broadway Market in London, already known by beer afficionados for its impressive range of tap and bottled Belgian beers.

The public are invited to enjoy samples from the iconic Flemish brewery Rodenbach brewery together with some typical Belgian food specialities, courtesy of VISITFLANDERS.

Putting a focus on the beers of the Rodenbach brewery, visitors can look forward to tutored tastings of five different variants of its famous red beer on offer, courtesy of a brewery representative who will be joining the event for the night.

Typically flavoured with a mildly sour taste this delicious beer undergoes a special mixed fermentation and maturation in oak. Visitors can look forward to tasting the following beers on the night:

Rodenbach Classic – A sweet and sour fruity refreshing beer with complex, rounded, intense notes

Fruitage by Rodenbach – Created using aged and young ale with 7% cherry juice.

Rodenbach Grand Cru – A medium bodied, fruity oaky-tart, dark Flemish red.

Rodenbach Evolved – A ten year matured red ale with more a pronounced woody character.

Rodenbach Vintage 2021 – An ale aged for  2 years with notes of Madeira, Port, wild honey, and green apple.

As  is accustomed in Flanders, the delicious beers will be accompanied with some  tasty bites, including some authentic meats and cheeses from the region, paired with speciality mustards and breads. Speciality beer pate shop Potje Pate, famous for blending Belgian beers with pate will premier a new unique Rodenbach red berry pate for the event.

Belgium Beer Week  is a chance for beer lovers all over the world  to sample some traditional and authentic products from Flanders. The special tap-takeover by Rodenbach in The Dove provides an opportunity for the public to take part in a unique experience whilst igniting a passion for Belgian beer culture.

Award-winning beer event operator AleHunters who specialise in brewery tours and tastings in Belgium and the UK, will also be present. Its founder, Paul Davies, is the UK Ambassador for Belgium Beer Week and will be on hand to guide those curious to discover more about his Belgian beer tours, offering everything from day visits to specialist beer festival trips.
