German Brew Masters’ and Maltsters’ Association (DBMB) gather in Bottrop

m+f KEG-Technik GmbH & Co. KG recently hosted the 2023 DBMB Summer Party at its facility in Bottrop.

The event, also supported by Bottroper Bier GmbH and Krombacher Brauerei, featured an impressive 80 brewmasters, beer sommeliers and brewery owners accepted the invitation of the private-owned family business and gathered in the finest beergarden weather in Bottrop-Boy on 16.06.2023!

The reason for the invitation was the 50th anniversary of m+f KEG-Technik. The NRW regional group of the DBMB did not take long to accept the invitation to Bottrop. After all, North Rhine-Westphalia is Germany’s most populated federal state and there are about 500 active and retired brew masters organized in the NRW regional group.

The only condition for the event was that only draught beers be served, explains Peter Mackenrodt, the company’s CEO. The specialized machine builder specializes in the production of KEG systems for customers all over the world. KEG beers are of higher quality. No brew master disputes the “drinkability” of KEG beers.

In addition to an in-depth tour of the production site, it was also possible to present the running KEG plant for the ARASAN brewery in Kazakhstan, which has a capacity of 240 KEG/h and is equipped with the most modern ABB robot for the food industry. Other projects from Vietnam, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Ireland, France, and Germany were under construction.

The two-stage nitrogen plant, which produces 99.99% nitrogen from ambient air, also sparked great interest. Having one’s own nitrogen generator helps to become independent of CO2 supply bottlenecks or CO2 prices in the CSD sector. m+f reference plants have existed in the N2 sector for over 20 years.

The scouts of DPSG, St. Josef Rentfort, were responsible for serving and entertaining the guests with what were probably the best beers in NRW. The young scouts were trained in a crash course by master brewer and beer sommelier Stefan Schreiber, Schäfer Werke.

With the words “Brewers can not only brew, but also bake”, Marcel ter Steege, 1st Chairman of the DBMB regional group NRW, surprised the employees of m+f KEG-Technik with an extraordinarily large and tasty birthday cake for their 50th anniversary.

Networking conversations were held in a relaxed, pleasant mood until the early morning. The evening ended, as is customary in Westphalia, around a campfire accompanied by the Steiger Song.

All participants agreed to maintain the highest level of secrecy about the quantity of draught beers consumed.
