Flavour house I.T.S has launched some new natural dessert flavours, featuring some of the most popular desserts available, which can be used to add an indulgent twist to all kinds of food and drink, including beer and cider.
“The use of indulgent dessert flavours in alcoholic beverages is an interesting trend with one of our favourite twists getting the flavours of our favourite puddings into beer. It’s a trend that is growing and helping to drive sales among younger consumers who often have a sweeter palate”, said I.T.S founder Mike Bagshaw.
He added” “Some brewers are looking to pack their beers full of flavour as part of their brand offering. These new super flavoured beers have been expanding the beer drinking market in much the same way as flavour helped to expand the cider category and bring the product to a younger consumer.
“Adding flavours means that the finished product doesn’t have a strong beer taste, but tastes of mango or another exotic fruit or, in this case, the flavour of a favourite pudding for example. This is often appealing to younger consumers taking their first steps into beer drinking”.
These new additions complement existing dessert flavours offered by the company, which include Sticky Toffee Pudding, Peach Melba and apple crumble and is now offering Basque Cheesecake, Eton Mess, Pecan Pie and Baklava, among others.
According to I.T.S, using a flavour supports manufacturers’ NPD and allows them to easily introduce limited edition products. Dessert flavours are big news thanks to their association with nostalgia and indulgence. The new flavours are:
