The 5.7% beer is brewed using German ingredients and is pitched as a “complex and nutty with a crisp, dry finish”.
Munich and Chocolate malts are combined with the brewery’s house pilsner malt, which adds richness and creates a slightly fuller bodied version of Camden’s Hells.
Jasper Cuppaidge, founder of Camden Town Brewery, explained: “Oktoberfest is like Christmas for lager. All year ‘round breweries like ours – and those that inspired us in Germany – work hard brewing lager, and during Oktoberfest we get to celebrate it.
“Lager, the greatest beer style in the world, commemorated with a slightly fuller bodied, richer version of Hells. Think of it like Hells putting on its lederhosen.”
The beer will be available on tap and in 500ml bottles from 16th September.
