Siren reveal new head brewer

Siren Craft Brew has appointed Sean Knight as its new head brewer.

Knight (far left) who has previously held the roles of head brewer at Sambrook’s and head of operations at Fourpure, will oversee the Berkshire company’s expansion plans.

This will include the addition of tank space, improving lab facilities and the addition of a canning line.

Knight takes on the role from Kyle Larsen (middle right), who is leaving to set up a brewery called Kings & Daughters with his wife Kacie.

Siren said in a statement: “ Sean is very highly regarded in the industry and will be an exceptional asset to Siren.

“Due to visa restrictions and Kyle’s long term ambitions, it was always going to be a three-year project.

“Luckily for us, he embraced the challenge with open arms, exceptional care and a healthy sense of humour.

“His legacy lives on with our hugely talented brew team, who all benefited greatly from his mentoring, in addition to a portfolio of beers that continue to be enjoyed week-in, week-out – including the likes of the Suspended Series, Futurist and Santo, to name just a few.

“Perhaps the most tangible showcase of his work comes in the form of the Supreme Champion Beer of Britain award for Broken Dream in 2018.

“A great example of Kyle working with the foundations of Siren and expertly stewarding us forward, brewing beers with distinction and consistency.”
