Siren unveils duo of barrel-aged beers

Berkshire-based Siren, recently named as one of the world’s Top 100 brewers at the RateBeer award, has unveiled two new beers.

Summer Encore is an 11.2% Double IPA that has been aged in gin barrels.

The vessels were filled with a dry-hopped double IPA, resulting in a pale ale that balances fruit with herbs before an unmistakeable dry gin finish.

Barrel Aged Shattered Dream is a 9.2% Imperial Breakfast Stout the team aged in bourbon barrels.

It’s an imperial version of the brewery’s Broken Dream breakfast stout, delivering sweet biscuit, dark chocolate and deep roasted coffee notes.

Andy Nowlan from Siren explained: “The future for Siren and barrel ageing is very exciting; we’ve got a whole floor of exciting stuff to release over the next few years.

“But for now, I urge anyone to try Summer Encore and Barrel Aged Shattered Dream, two completely different beers united by a process that offers complexity, excitement and some amazing flavours.”
