Women In Beer reopens mentorship programme applications

Applications for the third cohort of the Women In Beer programme will be open from Friday the 14th of February to the 9th of March 2025.

For its third cohort, Women in Beer is opening 8 spaces for women-identifying individuals based in the UK.

The successful applicants will have a chance to be paired with one of the Women in Beer Mentors. Mentees will also have a chance to be part of the previous mentees and mentor community on WhatsApp as well as access to online and in-person networking events throughout the year.

The new cohort will also have a chance to get their WSET Qualification Level 1 in Beer as part of the programme.

Amelie Tassin, founder of Women in Beer and the WiB Mentorship said: “We wanted to offer a comprehensive programme for our mentees, combining personal advice, learning and networking.

“We are very proud to count the WSET as our education partner for the second year, adding for our mentees a qualification that will give them more confidence in their everyday life. We are very proud that 100% of the mentees who took the exam last year got their qualification and believe that it is an essential part of the programme.”.

Gold Sponsor’s Simpsons Malt will also welcome the mentees for a day visit at their malting plant of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Richard Simpson, chair & marketing director at Simpsons Malt Limited, added: “As a business, we’re always keen to support projects that promote learning and development with the brewing industry and, in its first year, the Women In Beer mentorship programme did just that.

As a result, we’re delighted to be sponsoring this initiative again in 2025, and we hope the mentees all enjoy being part of another successful programme.”

Tassin added: “The on-site visit is a fantastic opportunity for our mentees to know more about the industry they work in, but also to meet with their peers, and build long-lasting relationships. The expenses related to the visit are entirely covered by the programme as we want to make sure we are truly inclusive, and our mentees can access the event without having to worry about costs.”

Big plans for 2025

Women in Beer has had an eventful year in 2024, culminating in the successful Women in Beer Festival at the end of October. With the relaunch of their Mentorship programme, the community group is taking their first step in an ambitious programme for 2025.

This year will see the launch of Women in Beer’s networking events across the UK as well as the first edition of the Women in Beer Awards. Open to all women working in the industry across the UK, the awards will recognise exceptional achievements from women in different fields including brewing, marketing, communication and more.
